Regulatory Assistance

Environmental Permitting Services - The Governor's Office of Regulatory Assistance (ORA) helps citizens, businesses, and project applicants understand and navigate Washington’s environmental permitting processes. Includes contact people for your area.

Federal Permitting - Current permit status for projects within Washington, including 401 Water Quality permits and coastal zone consistency determinations.

Joint Aquatic Resource Permits Application (JARPA) - This application is used to apply for Hydraulic Project Approvals, 401 Certifications, Section 10 and 404 permits, General Bridge Act Permits, and Private Aids to Navigation permits. The JARPA should also accompany the Application for Authorization to use State-owned lands.

State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) - A state policy that requires state and local agencies to consider the likely environmental consequences of a proposal before approving or denying the proposal.

Transportation Liaison Team - A team of Ecology staff whose job it is to safeguard Washington's environment during the construction of state highway projects. The group works with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure proper care is taken during project activity.
