Ron’s Food Mart Site

SITE DESCRIPTION

The Ron’s Food Mart Site is located in the City of Kennewick, Benton County, Washington. A remedial excavation was conducted in 1998. Due to the close proximity of the south sidewall of the excavation to municipal underground utilities, it was not possible to remove all contamination at that time. Following backfill of the excavation with clean soil, the site was capped with asphalt and an Environmental Restrictive Covenant was filed. The Site received a No Further Action determination. Reviews are conducted every 5 years by Ecology for sites that have Environmental Covenants and/or Institutional Controls. The review is intended to examine the effectiveness of cleanup activities and and to assure the continued protection of human health and the environment.
