Assessing Risk / Establishing Cleanup Levels

Cleanup Levels and Risk Calculation (CLARC) searchable database

CLARC is a collection of technical information to assist in the development of cleanup levels at a site.  Included are a searchable database that can be used to look up chemical-specific information, guidance documents, technical documentation, and other information that may be helpful in setting cleanup standards under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA).

Notes on revision to Workbook tools:

  • December 2007:  One change was made to the MTCATPH Workbook in December, 2007 to reflect revisions to the MTCA rule effective November 12, 2007.

  • For MTCATPH11.1:  The TEF for dibenzo(a,h)anthracene has been changed from 0.4 (old version) to 0.1 (new version).  This change does affect the calculation results and may result in a higher cleanup level when this compound is present at the site.

  •  September 2006: Both Workbooks (MTCATPH & MTCASGL) were updated. The new version was dated August 2006 and has the number “11” added to the file name (MTCATPH11.xls & MTCASGL11.xls) to differentiate them from the previous version.
    • For MTCASGL11: Limited modification was made to enhance the usability of the program and the change does not affect the calculation results. Refer to Section 2.2 of User’s Guide for more details.
    • For MTCATPH11: Several changes were made to the table of physical and chemical properties and the toxicological information for several petroleum fractions and individual hazardous substances. These changes do affect the calculation results. Some modifications were made to enhance the usability of program. Refer to Section 3.4 of User’s Guide for more details.
