
The Yakima County Superior Court has ordered, consistent with RCW 90.03.360, all water right owners with confirmed water rights in the Yakima River Basin to install an approved metering or measuring device at each confirmed surface water diversion point below 2,000 feet elevation by April 1, 2006. Those with confirmed rights with diversion points above 2,000 feet elevation shall have an approved metering or measuring device installed by April 1, 2007.
The following list of meter vendors and installers includes those who have received training on the Water Metering Program of the Washington State Department of Ecology. This training included the technical requirements for assessing a system and selecting a meter of the type and style for accurately measuring water. The meter distributors and representatives, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) distributors and representatives are also listed.
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Hydromet System - a network of automated hydrologic and meteorological monitoring stations located throughout the Pacific Northwest that can be useful for water management.
Water Resources Grant Programs - The 2005 Legislature earmarked approximately $4.2 million in grant funding to pay for water-storage planning projects, water-conveyance projects designed to support watershed planning efforts, and small grants to local watershed planning groups that have completed their watershed plans.
