WRAC was established in 1996 to provide a forum for the exchange of
information on water resources management in the state of Washington.
Typical topics of discussion include proposed rules, policies, legislation,
budget development, and litigation.
Meetings are normally attended by about forty people who represent state
agencies, local governments, water utilities, Indian tribes, environmental
groups, consultants, law firms and other water stakeholders. Unless notice
is provided otherwise, meetings are held on the third Monday of every other month from
9 AM to noon in the auditorium at the
Ecology
headquarters in Lacey. Anyone who is interested in water resources
management in Washington is welcome to attend .
We maintain an E-mail list of about 100 individuals who receive notices of
meetings and other matters.
Contact Chris Anderson, WRAC Web master at
cand461@ecy.wa.gov or (360) 407-6634, to
be added to the E-mail list or to direct any questions.

On December 22, 2011, in a 6-3 decision, the Washington State
Supreme Court issued a ruling that the stockwater permit exemption is not
subject to a quantity limit. The Court held that the 5,000 gallon per day
language in the statute did not apply to stock watering, but that stock
watering is subject to all other water rights requirements. - links to the background of this case
