Partnerships

Ecology, University Of Washington (UW Industrial Assessment Center) and Washington State University (WSU Extension Energy Program) have partnered together to provide free energy industrial assessments, while reviewing related waste streams. Our goal is to help facilities achieve and sustain long-term energy management. A typical facility can save between 5-15% of their utility bill from implementing energy opportunities. Reductions of up to 25% of greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency measures are possible.

Common Issues

These are issues that the TREE Team has seen at multiple companies. The team can help you identify and correct these issues along with others, specific to your site.

• Rebates. Contact your electric and/or gas provider to see if they provide rebates or technical assistance in evaluating potential energy savings. Puget Sound Energy and other providers offer some services along these lines. Grant funds may also be available through WSU’s Extension Energy Program. Contact Cris Love for more information.
• Compressed Air. Identify and repair compressed air leaks, and evaluate your supply vs. demand of compressed air. The Compressed Air Challenge web site offers detailed information and resources. Compressed air is one of the largest energy uses in the industrial sector.
• Maintenance. Regularly maintain boilers and other equipment to save energy and costs.
