Progress

On September 13, 2004, the Chelan County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the WRIA 46 Entiat Watershed Management Plan. This represents the third watershed plan in the state, and the first in Eastern Washington to be adopted. It is also the first plan in the state to include instream flow recommendations. On August 3, 2005, the Department of Ecology adopted a new water management rule for the Entiat River basin based on the plan proposals (Chapter 173-546 WAC).

The Entiat Watershed Planning Unit also completed a Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) for the watershed, which was approved on February 2006.  The DIP identifies water quantity, habitat and water quality implementation actions with associated strategies and timelines for achieving goals, and success measurements. The actions outlined in the DIP are based on recommendations contained in the Entiat WRIA 46 Management Plan (CCCD 2004) and subsequent documents that were based on the core content and actions recommended in the WRIA 46 plan, e.g. the Entiat subbasin plan (NPCC 2004) and draft Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Plan (UCSRB 2005).

Additional information about the Entiat River watershed plan and the Detailed Implementation Plan can be found on the plan website (link given above).
