Progress
Spokane County, as the designated Lead Agency, submitted an application for Phase 1 funding in June 2003 to begin watershed planning in the Lower Spokane. A grant agreement was signed, awarded, and became effective October 10, 2003. The scope of work under this Phase 1 grant established the needed structure, processes and detailed scope of work to ensure that this watershed planning effort results in all parties acting in unison to manage the water and fishery resources of WRIA 54. The goal is for current and future generations of all the peoples of the area to have water of sufficient quality and in sufficient quantity to sustain an environment and economy that meets human needs and protects and enhances aquatic habitat.
