Progress
Over a 7-year period, the Planning Team, composed of a wide range of local, state and federal interest groups, met to develop the WRIA 59 Colville River Watershed and Detailed Implementation Plan. This group dedicated over 24,000 volunteer hours, and held over 600 public meetings to learn the water resource issues for the Colville River Watershed, develop recommendations, and incorporate these efforts into the WRIA 59 Watershed Plan and Detailed Implementation Plan.
During the Phase II Technical Assessment work, the Planning Team entered into a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to complete two technical studies to be used as the basis for the watershed planning efforts, as follows:
