Lower Skagit River Tributaries Thermal Infrared and Color Video August 31, 2001
These thermal infrared (TIR) surveys were conducted by Watershed Sciences
for the Washington State Department of Ecology. This image browser application was created by the Washington State Department of Ecology.
For more information about the TIR surveys, contact Greg Pelletier or read the report by Watershed Sciences. The longitudinal profiles of temperature from the TIR surveys are available in Excel spreadsheets and Arcview shapefiles.
The aerial images may be browsed in either the upstream or downstream direction starting at any river mile (RM) location in the list. The right arrows move through the images in the upstream direction and the left arrows move downstream one frame at a time. The images may be played automatically in either direction by using the double-arrows. Playing may be stopped by using the square button. A high speed internet connection is recommended for automatically browsing through the images with the double-arrows. The user may switch between images in [color], [thermal IR], or display [both] images side-by-side at any location.
Note: the time stamp on the [color] images is GMT/UTC. Subtract 7 hours to convert the time stamp to daylight savings time in the Pacific time zone.
