Local Solid Waste & Hazardous Waste Plans
Incorporate Beyond Waste goals, principles and actions into your local solid waste and/or
hazardous waste plans.
Ideas for Incorporating Beyond Waste into Local Solid Waste
and Hazardous Waste Management Plans
Review Beyond Waste 30-year goals and 5-year milestones for applicability to your
community: Specifically, what issues is your community facing in solid waste? What
problems are you trying to solve? What goals are you trying to meet, or which Beyond
Waste goals would you like to meet?
We recommend that you focus your efforts in some specific areas
A few examples for consideration include:
- Decreasing amount of organic waste disposal
- Decreasing amount of C&D disposal
- Decreasing amount of MRW disposal
- Increasing amount of C&D recycling
- Increasing amount of organic recycling
These examples are all aligned with the Beyond Waste Plan
