From 1957 to 1986, the Cascade Pole Company operated a wood-treating facility on property leased from the Port of Olympia. Investigations from 1986 through 1995 revealed a variety of toxic substances in soils, ground water, surface water, intertidal sediments, and marine organisms at the site. This focus sheet contains information on background, site containment and what will be done in the future. | |
