Short Description

During its 2000 session, the Washington State Legislature extended the Department of Ecology's authority to issue reservoir permits under the state surface water code to cover projects designed to store water in underground geological formations for future recovery and use. Previously, Eclogy only had authority to issue permits for typical surface water reservoirs. This is a progress report to the Legislature on artificial storage and recovery of ground water.
