Abstract Long Description

In the overview publication, key concepts in Ecology′s practical steps, or 'pathways,' to sustainability are illustrated and explained. In a purposefully non-technical format, the document presents the reasons for a sustainable life/business style and describes what realistic goals need to be set.

The document outlines ways to reduce costs, as well as avoid the shock of future cost spikes and reduced natural resource availability. The steps in the 'Pathways to Sustainability' model are each explained with examples from the Pathways study (document # 02-01-008) .

Illustrations used in the overview are available as slides in PowerPoint format from the author for use by public agencies and not-for-profit environmental educators.
