The purpose of this document is to identify sources of anthropogenic mercury in Washington State, outline the existing regulatory structure around mercury and existing mercury reduction efforts, identify possible strategies for further mercury reduction and make preliminary recommendations for action to be taken by the Departments of Ecology and Health. This is a draft document. The Departments expect that it will be modified over the coming months as a result of further research by Department staff, comments from the Mercury Advisory Committee, and comments received during the public comment period. Comments are due by November 8, 2002. | |
