Abstract Long Description

What is in the facility database and how do I access it? The facility database contains disposal information for landfills and incinerators for 2001, facility types, facility contacts, including names, owners, address, phone numbers (as of July 2001), tip fees and remaining capacity information for landfills. The types of facilities included are those that are permitted under chapter 173-304 WAC, Minimum Functional Standards for Solid Waste Handling and chapter 173-351 WAC, Criteria for Municipal Solid Waste Landfills.

How is the facility database maintained and when is it updated? Information in the facility database is obtained through annual reporting forms sent to all landfill types (municipal, inert/demolition, limited purpose/special use, and woodwaste landfills) and to waste-to-energy/incinerators. Information provided by the facilities includes the types and amounts of waste disposed or incinerated, remaining capacity, sources of waste (out-of-county, out-of-state, out-of-country) for the previous year. Facility listing and contact information is updated annually. Updated information is provided at this site in late September of each year.
