The Washington State Department of Ecology′s water quality program regulates any public or private activity discharging to waters of the state that contributes to or causes pollution. The report provides an overview of the water quality program. It discusses point source and nonpoint source pollution. It also explains both permit-related activities of the program and activities where compliance is sought through nonpermitting means such as technical assistance, inspections, education, and enforcement. | |
