| Short Description |
Document describes a vibracoring project implemented in September, 2003. This work supported the collaborative Benson Beach Phase III studies and other alternatives to improve the beneficial use of dredged material. The vibracores were needed to provide seafloor surface and subsurface sediment data to aid in evaluating the proposed dredged material re-handling area along the Columbia River north jetty. Vibracores in the vicinity of the Columbia River south jetty were needed to begin to assess the suitability of the existing subsurface for supporting the jetty, and provide insight into the severity of erosion problems and habitat affects caused by dredged material placement. | |
