Short Description

This document does not provide new requirements for wetland mitigation but rather attempts to compile all of the existing information, including currently available science, and current agency policies on mitigation. It provides an overview of the role the agencies play in regulating wetlands and some of the factors that go into the agencies′ wetland permitting decisions in regards to mitigation.

This document also updates and replaces the portions of the 1997 Ecology publication, "How Ecology Regulates Wetlands" (Ecology Publication #97-112), pertaining to wetland mitigation.
