Short Description	The Washington State Legislature created the Wetland Banking Program, and directed the Department of Ecology (Ecology) to administer a Wetland Mitigation Banking Pilot Program (Pilot Program) in 2004. This status report is intended to provide the Legislature with an update of the Pilot Program and an outline for the future direction of the program. Included in this report is the following: A discussion of wetland banking and why it is important. An overview of the legislative history of wetland banking in Washington. A summary of the Pilot Program from 2004 to 2006. An outline of Ecology′s future plans for the Pilot Program. Document also includes complete text of Chapter 173-700 WAC - Wetland Mitigation Banks, and Chapter 90.84 RCW - Wetlands Mitigation Banking.
