| Abstract | Long Description |
The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology), the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and Rayonier are releasing the draft Remedial Investigation Report for public review and comment. The draft Remedial Investigation Report details the results of the sampling effort identifying the types and levels of contaminants found in soils, groundwater, plants, and key animals at Rayonier Mill property on Ennis Street in Port Angeles; and how those contaminant levels compare to current cleanup standards. In addition Ecology and the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe have prepared a report which presents an analysis of the data for dioxins under the draft changes to the cleanup regulations. Because the new cleanup regulations may change before cleanup will take place on the Rayonier Mill property, Ecology and the Tribe believe it is important for the public to review those changes. |
