Summary of the 4/15/05 incident that occurred at Blair Waterway in Tacoma involving the car carrier PACIFIC EXPLORER. The PACIFIC EXPLORER was receiving intermediate fuel oil (IFO) from the tank barge 185-P2 when the tankerman from the 185-P2 was notified that IFO had spilled from two (2) two-inch pipes on the PACIFIC EXPLORER's port side and into the Blair Waterway. About 20 gallons of IFO was estimated to have spilled. | |
