| Short Description |
The Washington State Department of Ecology Freshwater Monitoring Unit collected monthly water quality information at 118 stream monitoring stations during Water Year 2007 (October 1, 2006 - September 30, 2007). We also collected 30-minute interval temperature data at 54 sites from July through September 2007. The principal goals of this ongoing monitoring program are to characterize the rivers and streams of Washington State and to track changes in water quality. This report documents data quality and presents results for Water Year 2007. This year′s report also includes an evaluation of our oxygen methods. (Also see abstract below) | |

| Abstract | Long Description |
The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) collected monthly water quality data at 118 stream monitoring stations during Water Year (WY) 2007 (October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007). We also collected 30-minute interval temperature data at 54 sites, mostly from July through September 2007. The principal goals of this ongoing monitoring program are to characterize the rivers and streams of Washington State and to track changes in water quality. This report documents methods and data quality, and presents the data for WY 2007. A description of Ecology′s long-term monitoring program and access to historical data can be found on Ecology′s Internet web site at www.ecy.wa.gov by clicking on "Environmental Assessment," "Long-term Monitoring," and then "River and Stream Water Quality." Most quality control results were within the limits specified in our Quality Assurance Management Plan and were consistent with findings in previous years. Except where noted otherwise, data collected in WY 2007 by Ecology's River and Stream Monitoring Program can be used without qualification. |
