Publication Summary

Released in December 2006, Washington's Ocean Action Plan: Enhancing Management of Washington State's Ocean and Outer Coasts (Washington's Ocean Action Plan) analyzed the status of Washington's ocean resources, ocean policy and management in Washington State and provided over 50 recommendation for improving management of these resources.

In 2007, the state legislature provided money to the Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) to implement the recommendations contained in this plan and requested an update on progress. As required by the legislature, this report provides an update on the activities and progress on these recommendations over 2007 and 2008.
