This publication provides information on the work being done to clean up Commencement Bay. The 2007 Legislature provided nearly $2.5 million for the Initiative through 2009, boosting the cleanup and protection of three areas of Washington: Commencement Bay, the Lower Duwamish Waterway, and the Spokane River. Specifically, the Initiative provides increased resources to speed up source control efforts, prevention of re-contamination, and for sam-pling. The Commencement Bay project received $775,000. | |||
