Short Description

The Washington State Department of Ecology is beginning a public process to revise its rules concerning the Environmental Lab Accreditation Program (Chapter 173-50 of the Washington Administrative Code). Ecology′s current fee structure does not cover the costs of the accreditation program, and the 2009 Legislature authorized the agency to raise fees to fully pay for the program. Ecology will also change some of its business practices in the rules in response to an agency budget reduction. The Focus Sheet provides additional information about this rule-making.
