Short Description

The Local Toxics Control Account (LTCA) funds the Coordinated Prevention Grant (CPG) Program. The legislative purpose of the Program is to: - Promote regional solutions and intergovernmental cooperation.

-Fund local government projects that prevent or minimize environmental contamination in ways that comply with state solid and hazardous waste laws and rules.

-Provide funding assistance for local solid and hazardous waste planning and for carrying out some projects in those plans.

Input from the CPG Workgroup (local government advisory committee), CPG grant recipients, and Ecology staff influenced changes to the CPG Program. Initiatives in Beyond Waste, direction from the Legislature, and available funding led to changes this cycle.
