| Short Description |
The Washington Department of Ecology is proposing to enter into an Agreed Order with the current owners of the Yakima Airport, the City of Yakima and the County of Yakima. An Agreed Order is a formal legal agreement between Ecology and the City and County of Yakima. The purpose of the Agreed Order is to investigate soil and groundwater contamination surrounding petroleum tank excavations which occurred in 1995, 1996, and 1998. The Agreed Order outlines the steps necessary under the Model Toxics Control Act to complete the Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study. It also establishes a timeline for that work to be completed. Public comments will be accepted April 15 through May 15, 2009. (Facility Site IDs 24492962, 27389546, 1137597, 26698574.) | |||
