Short Description

The Washington State Department of Ecology requests your comments on documents prepared for the South Park Landfill Site. The South Park Landfill is generally located between 8100 and 8200 2nd Avenue South in Seattle, Washington, in the South Park neighborhood. The South Park Landfill site, as currently known to Ecology, is a 40 acre property and any groundwater contamination associated with the Site that extends outside the boundaries of the landfill. About 19.4 acres of this property were previously owned by King County. This portion of the property is currently owned by South Park Property Development, LLC (SPPD). The South Park Landfill site will be going through Ecology′s formal cleanup process to complete the investigation into the nature and extent of contamination, to assess remedial action alternatives, and to complete the cleanup. The public comment period is March 9 through April 8, 2009.
