Short Description

The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) is concerned about new groundwater withdrawals at the headwaters of the Yakima River and its tributaries in the upper portion of Kittitas County. Recurring droughts and the proliferation of new wells drilled without the benefit of a permit has led to concerns about what impact these withdrawals may have on overall water supplies in the Yakima River Basin.
