| Short Description |
This report is a study of methods improving the quality of irrigation return flows. In April 1974, the Department of Ecology contracted with CH2M Hill, Inc.; to conduct a study with four general objectives: 1) Determine the relative contribution of point and nonpoint sources to water quality degradation in a predominantly agricultural area. 2) Determine alternative methods of reducing or eliminating the addition of wastes from these sources to surface water bodies. 3) Identify institutional constraints on applying the NPDES permit program to return flow management. 4) Recommend methods of applying the NPDES permit program to feed lot and irrigation return flows to result in improved water quality. | |||
