Short Description

The Department of Ecology has the responsibility of managing the water resources of the State of Washington (Chapter 90.54 RCW). The purpose of the Columbia River Instream Resource Protection Program is to establish the state's policies "for insuring the future viability of instream resource values of the main stem of the Columbia River, including fish, wildlife, recreation, aesthetics, navigation, and hydropower resource values" (WAC 173-531-060).
