Short Description

Nooksack Watershed Surficial aquifers (the uppermost saturated zone, typically an unconfined water-table condition, and of mappable extent) are identified and characterized using existing hydrogeolgic, soils, and well information. Data are compiled, stored, and analyzed using the ARC/INFO Geographic Information System. A surficial aquifer map delineates the lateral boundaries of all identified surficial aquifers in the watershed. The principal surficial aquifer in the watershed is designated the Sumas-Blaine Aquifer. Additional maps characterize the Sumas-Blaine Aquifer thickness, depth-to-water, and water-table contours. All data files, including detailed soil property information, are documented and available for use.
