Short Description

The results of studies conducted by the Environmental Investigations and Laboratory Services program over the past ten years are reviewed below. In surface waters, fecal coliform bacteria violations in Willapa Bay and its tributaries were repeatedly noted. Temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH violations were also noted but less frequently. Insufficient data were available to specifically evaluate: the impacts of dairy farms and other nonpoint source pollution, ground water quality, the effects of pesticide application in Willapa Bay, or the effluent quality at many permitted dischargers.
