Short Description

During the development of the Portland/Vancouver air quality maintenance plan, point sources north of the maintenance area, in Longview, were identified as potentially important contributors of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds that might significantly enhance ozone formation within the maintenance area. The Washington Department of Ecology, in coordination with the Southwest Washington Air Pollution Control Agency, contracted with Washington State University to conduct a photochemical modeling study to investigate the impact of emissions from Longview on the Portland/Vancouver maintenance area. Ecology and WSU collaborated on this study. This report contains the findings of the WSU and Ecology modeling team.
