Short Description

This report describes an oil spill from the M/V ANADYR on January 1, 1998. About 7,500 gallons of fuel oil spilled into the Sitcum Waterway while the vessel was refueling (bunkering) in Tacoma, Washington. The report describes the causes of the spill and the prevention lessons learned from this incident. It concludes with a list of recommended actions for ship owners and operators, and tank barge owners and operators when refueling.
