Purpose

The purpose of this chapter is to protect ground water quality by:

(1) Preventing ground water contamination by regulating the discharge of fluids into Underground Injection Control (UIC) wells; and (2) Satisfying the intent and requirements of Part C of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the Washington state Water Pollution Control Act, chapter 90.48 RCW.
