Purpose

What is the purpose of this regulation? When wastewater treatment plants are properly operated, public health and the state′s waters are protected. Operators must meet minimum standards to assure they are competent to operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants. This rule establishes the requirements for obtaining a wastewater certificate and for the level of certificate required for an operator in responsible charge of a treatment plant. An operator in responsible charge of a wastewater treat-ment plant must be certified at a level that is equal to or greater than the classification of the wastewater treatment plant.
