Reduce Vehicles on Roadways Idea I read through the Senate bill that talks about enlisting tolls for single riders to reduce traffic and emissions. While there are some good ideas, and financial impact can certainly help reduce vehicles on the roadway and create revenue to fix roads, there are other things as a government we can do in addition to this that are very innovative and don't hurt those already in financial distress. In the bill you recognized that workers are moving further and further away from where they work to afford housing, so what if to take some of these individuals off the streets we gave tax breaks to companies for two very simple reasons.
Barbara Gustafson Commending the Washington State Climate Advisory Team Dear Governor Gregoire, I am writing to commend you and your staff for convening the Washington State Climate Advisory Team and embracing its final recommendations. As you know, climate change is the defining issue of our time. It affects our economy, health and natural resources, and poses challenges for us as we strive for equity and social justice. While recognizing that much hard work remains, including providing much-needed resources to implement these recommendations, I am pleased that this team is already moving Washington and our nation forward in addressing these challenges and capturing related opportunities. As a result of your vision and commitment on this issue, states like ours have taken a leadership role even while the federal government has been unwilling to act.
