The National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration is one of the leading agencies studying and modeling
the physical climate system, as well as researching and managing
coastal and marine resources.
NOAA Regional Climate Science Collaborations:
Six Regional Integrated Science and Assessment (RISA) teams will
work closely with natural resource managers and land planners,
nongovernmental organizations and the private sector within each
region of the U.S. to advance new research on how climate
variability and change will impact the environment, economy, and
society, and develop innovative ways to integrate climate
information into decision-making.

Landscape Conservation Cooperatives - LCCs are
management-science partnerships that inform integrated resource
management actions addressing climate change and other stressors
within and across landscapes and habitats. In Washington, there are
two LCCs: the North Pacific (covering Western Washington and Puget
Sound) and the Great Northern (covering Eastern Washington starting
at the Cascade Range).
