EPCRAMail Software - MS Access 97

You may find it helpful to print these instructions to have on hand when you install EPCRAMail.

What your computer needs to run EPCRAMail 97

EPCRAMail can only run on a PC, sorry Mac users
Windows 95, 98, 2000 or XP
Microsoft Access 97

This version is for MS Access 97 users.

EPCRAMail has two files: EPCRAMail.mde and epcrax.mdb

EPCRAMail.mde is the main application. This is where you enter your information, print forms, and electronic reporters can export data to the smaller database – the epcrax.mdb file.
Epcrax.mdb is an empty database that will be filled with your facility information when you click the "Export Data" button in EPCRAMail. It can be sent to the State Emergency Response Commission in lieu of a paper filing. The local agencies need paper copies.

Both files are zipped together in a WinZip self-extracting file. You don’t need special software like WinZip to install this on your computer.

Step 1: Download the Self-extracting file with EPCRAMail97

When you click on the download link below for "EPCRAMail97.exe," a "File Download" window will open and ask, "Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?" Choose "Save". A new box will pop up to allow you to choose the location you want to save the file to. Choose a file location that is easiest for you to find later. Click "OK". Most users will save it to the C:\drive in a folder named EPCRAMail.

Step 2: Unzip the Self-extracting file and Open the application

Go to the location you saved the EPCRAMail97.exe and double click on the file. The WinZip Self-Extractor window will open and look like the example below. It is set to unzip to C:\EPCRAMail97. If you want to save it to another location, you can change the drive and file names.

Click “Unzip” and it will be saved in the file location you chose.

When the files are unzipped, double click on the EPCRAMail.mde file. This will start the application in Access 97.

When you have put all your facility information in EPCRAMail, you will be able to print Tier Two forms and export your facilities information to the epcrax.mdb file for electronic submittal to the State Emergency Response Commission.

Note: You must enter your Community Right-to-Know number in the Facility ID# field with the application. In order to accurately record your submittal, please use the correct Community Right-to-Know number for each site.

If you've used earlier versions of EPCRAMail 97 software and have had printing problems, this problem has been corrected in this application.

Hints:

You should always verify that the current reporting year is the previous calendar year. On the main menu, choose “Change Current Year”. The current year must be the same as the year you enter chemical information for to print completed reports. This feature will also allow you to update existing information for future year’s reports.
You may need to be connected to a printer to preview completed forms.
If your email software does not allow sending files with extensions such as .mdb or .mde, you can make a copy of the file and rename the copy before sending. For example, use a .txt .doc or .mdb_ok extension instead.
