Chapter 173–219 WAC - Reclaimed water use - New rule

The legislature enacted ESHB 2884 in 2006, which is now part of Chapter 9046 RCW. The new law directs the Department of Ecology to:

  1. Form an advisory committee, which will provide technical assistance in developing standards, procedures, and guidelines for reclaimed water use.
  2. Adopt rules for reclaimed water use by December 31, 2010.

The rules must address all aspects of reclaimed water use, including but not limited to:

The rules must also designate the lead permitting Agency regulatory agency responsible for a particular aspect of reclaimed water use.
