Ecology Grant Of $37,991 Helps Health District Enforce Solid Waste Laws

Ecology has awarded a $37,991 grant to the Northeast Tri-County Health District to help enforce solid waste laws in Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties. The health district will use the grant to inspect permitted solid waste facilities, review permit applications and respond to complaints about illegal dumping.

Ecology Grant Of $22,100 Aids San Juan County Environmental Health Department

Ecology has awarded a $22,100 grant to the San Juan County Environmental Health Department for enforcing solid waste laws. The health department will use the grant to inspect facilities and review permits, evaluate ground water quality and methane gas generation data from closed landfills and other facilities, and respond to complaints of illegal dumping and other violations.

Pe Ell Received A Grant From Ecology To Fix Sewage Pump Stations

Ecology awarded Pe Ell a Centennial Clean Water Fund grant of $460,370 to fix two sewage pump stations. The project will solve an environmental emergency caused by two failing sewage pump stations that overflowed during high discharges this past winter and entered Snow Creek and the Chehalis River. This project will design and construct the upgrade of the two pump stations to prevent the sewage overflows and protect the public health.

Ecology Awards Port Townsend A Loan For Sewer Plan Project

Ecology awarded Port Townsend a State Revolving Fund low-interest loan of $218,000 to develop a comprehensive sewer plan. The project will develop and prepare a sewer plan which will evaluate the city's sewage system and establish a long-range plan containing a list of priority projects for a one, two and five-year period.

Ecology Awards Colton A Grant/Loan Combination For Sewer Plan Project To Improve Water Quality

Ecology awarded Colton a Centennial Clean Water Fund grant of $44,000 and a loan of $54,000 to develop and produce a combined general sewer and facility plan. The plan will evaluate and recommend treatment options for the town's wastewater treatment system.

Chewelah Gets Loan Of $903,000 From Ecology To Improve Treatment Facility

Ecology awarded Chewelah a State Revolving Fund low-interest loan of $903,000 to design improvements to the city's wastewater collection and treatment facilities. The construction of these improvements will bring the city into compliance with the state water quality standards and discharge permit requirements for discharging into the Colville River.
