Chehalis Basin Partnership public meeting this Friday

OLYMPIA - The Chehalis Basin Partnership will hold a public meeting from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Lucky Eagle Casino conference room, on Route 12 near Oakville.

The meeting agenda includes updates on the Chehalis Flood Project, the use of state watershed grants, citizen recruitment to serve on the partnership and a briefing on Department of Ecology visit to farms in the upper-Chehalis basin.

A public-comment period is scheduled at 11:05 a.m.

The Chehalis Basin Partnership comprises county, city, tribal and state-agency representatives as well as others with an interest in Chehalis River basin water issues. The group is working on collaborative approaches for flood reduction, fisheries, recreation, water quality and water quantity.
