Workshops planned on managing dangerous waste

SPOKANE - Do you know if your business generates dangerous waste, and would you like to increase your profits by reducing your waste? Are you interested in learning to manage your waste properly to avoid a costly violation?

The Washington Department of Ecology is conducting two workshops in Eastern Washington in January 2000 to educate businesses about the appropriate handling, storage and disposal of dangerous wastes. Each full-day workshop will cover a variety of topics and include a demonstration on how a business can use a computer program to develop and submit an annual dangerous-waste report electronically.

Eastern Washington workshops are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. as follows:

January 4

Spokane

Spokane Community College
Student Union Building, Big Foot and Sasquatch Rooms

January 6

Yakima

Double Tree Hotel, Selah / Wapato Rooms

The workshops will cover how to:

Small-quantity generators will be the focus of the morning session.

Ecology is offering the workshop for $40. A training manual, lunch and a certificate of participation will be provided. If space is still available on the day of the workshop, registration at the door will be $45.
