Emission Check stations to be closed for holidays

OLYMPIA -- Emission Check stations in Clark, King, Pierce, Snohomish and Spokane counties will be closed on Dec. 24-25 and on Jan. 1, 2003.

Stations will be open all day on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and will re-open at 9 a.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Test stations are normally open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Emission Check stations are operated by Agbar Technologies, Inc., under contract to the state Department of Ecology. The emission-testing program helps reduce air pollution from motor vehicles by identifying high-polluting vehicles and requiring repairs.
