YAKIMA - People can learn about airborne toxins and the air quality of their region during a meeting on June 10, hosted by the Washington Department of Ecology.
The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wenatchee Museum and Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission St., Wenatchee.
Dr. Harriet Ammann, a senior toxicologist with the Washington Department of Ecology, will talk about toxic air in Washington state, current research and the association between air toxins and particulates, as well as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Ecology's toxic-air coordinator, Elena Guilfoil, will discuss monitoring and federal and state programs for controlling air toxins.
