SPOKANE - How much water do we have? How do people move it around to get it to where it's needed most? How are we going to deal with shortages?
These questions regarding approaches about managing water supplies in the mid-Columbia region of Washington state will be discussed at a public meeting planned for Dec. 20 in Moses Lake.
The meeting is planned for 1 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Moses Lake Firehouse, 701 E. Third Ave. in Moses Lake.
Members of the public will be able to meet the new Ephrata water master, Lynn Maser; hear about the seasonal application process to move water from place to place; get the newest information about the declining water table in the Odessa area; and discuss future strategies for the Odessa area and Quincy basin.
The community meeting is co-hosted by state Senators Mark Schoesler, R-Ritzville, and Joyce Mulliken, R-Moses Lake, and the state Department of Ecology's water resources program.
For details, contact Lynn Maser at 509-754-0268.
