As a part of Ecology’s nonpoint source pollution program, the agency administers significant state and federal funds to address nonpoint pollution issues. In accordance with federal regulations, funds are granted to implement specific watershed cleanup objectives that are spelled out in TMDL implementation plans, or other Ecology approved watershed approaches.
Additionally, funds must also meet Ecology’s eligibility guidance, which limits funding to only those practices with demonstrable and prevailing water quality and public benefit.
