
There are many new environmentally safe products on the market, but you may already
have products in your home that will do a good job.
| Air freshener | A small dish of vinegar or lemon set out in a warm area |
| Bleach | Borax |
| Chlorine scouring powder | Baking soda |
| Coffeepot cleanser | Baking soda solution |
| Disinfectant | Ammonia |
| Drain cleaner | Plunger, followed by a handful of baking soda and a half cup of vinegar. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes. Pour down two quarts boiling water, and the clog should release. |
| Glass cleaner | Two tablespoons of vinegar to one quart of water. |
| Grease remover | Baking soda paste |
| Mildew stain remover | Vinegar solution |
| Mothballs | Cedar chips enclosed in a cotton sachet |
| Oven cleaner | Pour lots of salt on fresh oven spills and scrape the residue off when the oven cools. Ammonia can be painted on tough stains. |
| Stain remover | Cornstarch paste |
| Tile cleaner | Baking soda and toothbrush |
| Toilet bowl cleaner | Baking soda |
